Tenants only have to get one account on each services, find out which options to choose for your rented property from your landlord. Generally, houses are serviced by Toronto Hydro and Condos are by the other options.

Following are required before possession

1. Signing up for Utilities (or transferring): Please provide proof, i.e., email screenshot with account number etc. for electricity, gas, water etc. All tenants' names should be included. 

2. Tenant Insurance: Please obtain Tenant Insurance effective first day of tenancy with minimum $1,000,000.00 liability coverage and provide proof.

3. Key Deposit: An amount of key deposit may be required, it can be included in the initial draft, or e-transfer.

4. Post-dated cheques: Post dated cheques for the rent is required for the first year, except for the deposit or first month rent that’s already provided with a bank draft.
